Why Make a Sunday School Prayer Calendar

Jesus often draw apart from the crowds and his disciples to be alone with his father. This allowed for times of prayer. If Jesus thought it important to pray so should we. Martin Luther once said “Prayer is the most important thing in my life. If I should neglect prayer for a single day, I should lose a great deal of the fire of faith.”

Teaching prayer in Sunday School can be made fun and easy with a prayer calendar. Whilst teaching the importance of prayer it can also be practical. Why not create a monthly “Sunday School Prayer Calendar” which can serve as a daily reminder of the needs of Sunday School, missionaries, church leaders etc.

The calendar can take the form of an actual calendar or as a list of dates with a different general prayer concern listed for each day. Examples include: children in the community, friends at school, families in the church, leaders of the church, a specific country, missionaries the church support etc.

Young children may like to make the calendar colourful with stickers or drawings. Older children may put scripture verses for memory purposes at the top of the calendar. Any type of craft materials can be used, give your imagination full reign.

All events and activities that the church has planned can be covered with prayer by placing them on the calendar.

The calendar should then be made available to all members of your church asking them to make the prayer requests part of their prayers on that day.

Is Prayer Important for the Christian

Prayer. What is prayer? Let us define prayer as simply communicating with our Creator. Prayer might be asking God for help. It might be thanking Him for His blessings. Or it might be simply communicating, much the same way we might talk with a friend, discussing our day.

How important is prayer? If we believe in the Creator, believe He exists, and we believe that He desires to have a relationship with us, how important is prayer? If prayer is simply communicating, chatting if I may, then how important is prayer?

If we define prayer as simply chatting with God, and He desires a relationship with us, then perhaps we can compare prayer with talking with our best friend or spouse. How important is daily communication with our spouse or our best friend? Do we grow closer when we do not engage in daily conversation?

When we engage in daily conversation in any relationship, it should enable us to grow closer to that individual. So if we talk with God daily, do we not also grow closer to Him daily? And if we do not communicate with God daily, can we really grow closer? Even if we fill our lives with ‘holy’ activities—reading spiritual books, doing good works, going to church---will we grow closer without the daily communication that prayer is?

Prayer is infinitely important. When I pray daily, when I communicate daily with God and make time for Him in my life, I really do have an easier road. When I do not spend time with God daily, especially communicating with Him, I notice a profound difference in my daily achievements.

When you pray, you are communicating with the Creator of the universe. The Creator sincerely wants to hear and answer your prayers.

Are you communicating with God daily? Do you make time for Him everyday, no matter what? If you do, great. If not, I challenge you to get into the habit now. You will notice an immediate difference in the way you perceive things and in the way you respond to the world around you. Prayer does indeed change things.

How To Pray The Right Way

We often pray the ALMIGHTY for happiness and success and ridding our selves from the misery and troubles. But only a few experience that their prayer was answered. The rest think why the ALMIGHTY has not answered their prayer. They feel that they got nothing in return for the prayer. But realize friends, it is not the fault of the ALMIGHTY. It is your fault. HE WILL LISTEN ONLY IF YOU SURRENDER TOTALLY AND PRAY. Prayer, the right way only gets answered. It is important not only to say a prayer but also the way you say the prayer. GOD will tune to you if you have the same frequency that he can receive. Other wise your prayer is lost. It will never reach the destination. Prayer without focus and surrender gets no answers.

Simple things to do before you pray.

1. Close your eyes. Control your breathing to a deep level.

2. Ask your ears to shut from the outside noises.

3. Ask your hands, legs, and to stay still.

4. Ask your eyes to look within.

5. Suggest your mind to shut from all external and internal disturbances. Command your mind to shut the senses to outside environment.

6. Realize how small you are before realize how small you are and how dependent you are on the GRACE of the ALMIGHTY.

7. Visualize the ALMIGHTY and keep that form in focus. May be it is in the form of light, Christ, Rama, etc depending on your perception.

8. Say your prayer.

9. At the end of the prayer, ask the ALMIGHTY to forgive you for the mistakes that might have crept while saying the prayer. Pray that he tunes to your prayer and answer it.

Tune your mind and senses before the ALMIGHTY tunes to you. Say the prayers the right way and get them answered. Say the prayer the right way.

Why Must We Pray Everyday

Prayer is always in place in the house of God. Repeating the words from Isaiah, "It is written, my house shall be called the house of prayer." The Lord makes prayer preeminent in our lives. The life, power, and glory of the church is prayer. The life of a believer is dependent on prayer and the presence of God is secured and retained only by prayers.

Prayer is the task and duty of every believer of each recurring day - daily prayer for daily needs. As every day demands is bread, so every day demands is prayer.

Without prayer, the church is lifeless and powerless. Prayer projects faith on God, and God on the world. Only God can move mountains of diseases, difficulties and problems from our lives. Both faith and prayer move the hands of God. Prayers can change circumstances and situations.

Which the soul of man can enter into fellowship and communion with the source of all Christlike spirit and energy. So, if he does not pray, he is not of the household of faith. God waits patiently day and night for his elect to cry A man who does not pray cannot be called a Christian, for prayer is the only way in unto him. Prayer helps, where all other fail. The more we pray, the better we are, the purer and better our lives.

True prayer must be aflame. Christian life and character need to be all on fire. Prayer is an indispensable phase of spiritual habit. Prayer has everything to do with molding the soul into the image of God, and has everything to do with enhancing and enlarging the measure of divine grace. It has everything to do with bringing the soul into complete communion with God.

So, Let's perform our Christian task by starting to pray always with all prayer which is a divine direction given to us
